Engagement Libs (Mad Libs)

Engagement Libs

Okay, so I found this in the DIY & Crafts section of Pinterest today and I almost fell over!  My fiance and I had just been talking hours ago saying we wanted a poster board at our engagement party so guests could leave us advice.  Because we're having our party at a restaurant I wasn't sure if we were going to have wall space so the idea had to be nixed until I saw this.

These particular 'Guest Libs' are being sold on Etsy by Cami's Paperie for $22.00 just to download the PDF!  Even though it is very nice looking, I was like 'EFF THAT!' I can make it myself! So, I opened up trusty Microsoft Word and got to work.

Our theme for the Engagement and Wedding is 'Superhero's'... Don't ask!  I tried to incorporate the theme as much as possible without it being too tacky looking.  And for mine, I also included at the bottom what exactly every part of speech meant.  For example; A noun is a person, place or thing!  Betcha a lot of us folks forgot that.

All in all, I am VERY happy with how it turned out and am very excited to see what my guests write!

The finished product:

I created a Google Doc to share with you folks, BUT unfortunately, when it downloaded it changed the Masked Marvel font (download HERE) to Times New Roman AND I don't think you can edit it directly on Google Docs, you're going to have to download the original.  Hopefully it'll help someone!  Click HERE for the Google Doc.

Pinterest...

Hiya.  This is my blogs first post, so let me give you a little info.  I'm a new DIY-er... REALLY new.  I've always been slightly crafty, but nothing outside of art class in High School.  Now, this new DIY-ness is completely to blame on Pinterest.  Pinterest, pinterest, pinterest... Oh how I loathe and love you at the same time.  What other website can make you want to eat delicious food, lose weight and craft... all at the same time?  No other site other than pinterest!  Are you getting the gist here?  So, I am aware that there are other   blogs out there dedicated to completing things that have been on Pinterest, but here's where I have the one up!  ...Well, I don't... but... yeah!  I'm an average girl, with average skills... and maybe you can learn a thing or two from my mistakes.  I've already done a few projects from Pinterest, some came out great, others were a complete waste of my life.  Next project on the line up is to decoupage.  Lets say it together... Day-co-PAHJ!  Whatever I make has to come out good, because it will be on my dessert table for my engagement party!  Fingers crossed, and I'll see you when it's all finished!
